Epsilon eSports have beaten European rivals Red Reserve 3-0 in the grand final to become the 2017 CWL Sheffield champions.
After coming an impressive 3rd place in Anaheim, ahead of many of the best COD teams in North America, many gaming pundits successfully predicted Epsilon to win the CWL Sheffield championships and the $10,000 prize money. However, the championship was not all plain sailing for Epsilon. They had an early scare with a close game against dark horses ‘Elevate’, with Epsilon managing to clinch the win in the fifth and final round. As the tournament progressed they began to pick up momentum with an especially excellent performance in the semi final against Fnatic; a top eSport side with one of the strongest COD teams in the CWL circuit.
This win proves Epsilon eSports currently have one of the most talented COD rosters in Europe. The team is made up from some of the best young talent in the UK including:
-
Joshua Lee-Sheppard ‘BsportJoshh’
-
David Davies ‘Dqvee’
-
Billy Harris ‘Hawqeh’
-
Stephen Allan ‘Vortex’
Steve ‘Vortex’ Allen: “This event was important to keep up our good momentum earned from Birmingham and Anaheim. As favourites for the title, it was key to be able to live up to the billing. We hope to carry our good form into Stage 2 of Global Pro League.”
All 4 players greatly contributed during the competition, showcasing their immense talent and skill through the competition. There are certainly exciting times ahead for this young team, we wish them good luck in the upcoming Global Pro league.
